Forgive the posting here, but this seems more like a Graflex question than a format question.

I got a "23" back for a baby Graphic, but it does not have the retaining cleat of all my other roll backs and holders. It fits the back fine, but will slide off to the right. I understand this was made for a different type of back. Is there any "standard" fix for this? Or is it a matter of glueing a piece of wire on as a cleat?

Here is a "normal" one on top and new one on the bottom.

I think epoxying a wire would work. Just make sure it isn't too thick. Otherwise, the back will move out of the correct focus plane.

The lower back is for a "Graflex" back with recessed light trap, more commonly found on Graflex reflexes and rarely on Speed/Crown Graphics (usually these latch on with an upper slider that is different from the Graflok sliders). The upper back is the more normal "Graphic" back with a protruding light trap that fits the more common Graflok backs, and standard spring backs if you take the ground glass off.

The "Graflex" roll film back is harder to find as far as I know, so you may wish to make whatever modification you do reversible, or post an ad and see if someone wants to trade you for the normal Graphic back.

I'm open to a swap, if anyone is interested. However, I've got the epoxy and am looking for the wire, so the offer won't be around long. ;-)

That's a lousy fix and barbaric as well. Graflex (= standard fitment for Graflex SLRs) roll holders are much less common than Graphic (= attach to Graflok backs, Graflex Inc's terminology confuses everyone) roll holders.

Put your Graflex roll holder up for sale here or on eBay, which has much greater reach than photrio, so that someone who needs a 2x3 Graflex back can get one. Make sure to describe it accurately. State explicitly that it fits Graflex SLRs.
