This means that I should buy Triethanolamine?
Can't be replaced with tea powder?

I wish you could use tea powder as a substitute for TEA but it won't give you the alkalinity needed by the working solution.

A more sensible thing to try would be a buffer of sodium carbonate and sodium bicarbonate but be warned that some experimentation might be needed.

Best of luck.

@mohmad khatab:

There're some Amidol based monobath formulas in case you're interested. Though Amidol deteriorates rapidly in solution, according to Goldhammer, it's much more stable in the presence of Sulphite and Catechol/Hydroquinone. He says "in a stoppered bottle such a solution retains its activity for many months".

One such formula using Amidol and Hydroquinone:
Water (120 F): 750 cc
Sodium sulfite (anhydrous): 40g
Amidol: 15g
Hydroquinone: 5g
6-nitrobenzimidazole nitrate: 0.4g
Sodium hydroxide: 10g
Ammonium thiosulfate: 50g
Water to make 1000 cc.
pH-9.0. Time, 3 minutes at 68° F.
It's possible to substitute the anti-foggant 6-nitrobenzimidazole nitrate in the above formula by Potassium bromide.

Another monobath formula using Amidol and Catechol:
Water (120 F): 750 cc
Sodium sulfite (anhydrous): 50g
Amidol: 15g
Catechol: 15g
Potassium bromide: 5g
Sodium hydroxide: 25g
Ammonium thiosulfate: 50g
Water to make 1000 cc.
pH-9.3. Time, 3 minutes at 68° F.

More details and additional formulas are in Goldhammer's patent. Apart from Amidol, other ingredients are relatively easy to obtain. All the best in case you want to try.

This patent is really interesting ,,,
However - at first I thought that the presence of sodium or ammonium thiosulfate in all recipes was due to adding more density to the emulsion and negatives,
- But when I read the title of the patent in the end I was surprised by the title saying (combine developer Fixer)
Now I feel really confused about that issue, what is meant by (combine developer Fixer),?
Are the two steps combined in one step?

I'm supposed to look for glycine, catechol and catechin.
The first article is only sold in large quantities, as the merchant refused to sell me less than a 25 kilo cart.
Article two and three I will search for them again. Maybe I will ask agricultural chemical dealers.
God bless you, my dear brother ..
This is a very great document ,,
I hope this chemistry’s life is relatively long,
Actually, I wanted to inquire about the Monopath recipe Do you have any information about it?
God bless you .

It's a monobath, ie, it has developer and fixer both in one working solution. When you use a monobath, developing and fixing happen together and there's no separate fixing step (and no stop bath either). So, in three minutes you get developed and fixed film ready to be washed and dried.

I noticed that the pH should rise to 11 if we were to decide to use this one solution.?
Please correct me if I am wrong.
Have you tried and tested this solution?
Do you trust him?

Mohmad, I've no idea how you came to this conclusion. pH of the the monobath is specified against each formula in the patent. If you prepare the monobath exactly as per specifications, you should get pH mentioned in the patent.

Monobath is really a cool idea that offers convenience over the normal developing process. @Ian Grant is the expert on monobath having worked on it previously. You can perhaps ask him his opinion of Goldhammer's monobath. I don't have Amidol with me unfortunately as I mentioned earlier and hence won't be able to test the formula for you. If you try it I would be curious to know your experience.

Unfortunately, it is now impossible to send international parcels ... maybe in a month the situation will be easier.
What is my relationship with international shipping ..
I am Egyptian, man. I am not a rich man. I do not have the wealth that allows me to buy everything online.
- Almost everything in Egypt - Alhamdulillah, (except for a few elements) ..
- I called the government pharmaceutical company specializing in the drug trade, and the employee told me that ((glycine) is available, 100 grams = $ 3 -
- But with great regret, I did not find Bayrocatiko. But the search is still going on.

Make sure that he's not selling you glycine as it won't develop film. What you want is glycin.
You're absolutely right ,,
Your note was very helpful.
God bless you
I contacted the chemical woman working for the government pharmaceutical company and inquired about the fact that this element actually did, and she assured me that it is just an amino acid and not the substance that we want.
I was going to buy the wrong item ,, on the whole we can skip it and stay away from glycine-based recipes whatever.

Sometimes Photrio is truly amazing.
A question asked in Arkansas USA, brought rise to a need for information in Egypt which was satisfied by a source in Kazakhstan.
It is truly a thing of wonder!
