Box says "日本製" which means “Made in Japan” so most likely Fujifilm. “27 exposures” would indicate it is repurposed disposable camera film.

I guess some folks here would buy that film just for the box. Likely two of it.

Yup, the moment you see 27 exp it means it came out of a single use/disposable camera.

But the cassette shown by the vendor himself lacks the sawtooth stud typical for these cassettes. Also that is a cassette with 24 exposures, at least that other box indicates such.

Fujifilm superia premium 400 (Japan only) was until March I think sold in 27 exp rolls. So Fuji supplied it with 'bonus' frames as standard. Branded It's now only sold in 36 exp. Or it could be a specific packaging of xtra 400 but seems less probable.

the sawtooth end of the cassettes seems to be mostly found on Kodak Brand Cameras.

the box does not seem to show any expiration date. this is Google's take on translation.

Just use it. It will serve as a good film to test a camera or just to get out and get some exercise.

Cool box. Isn't there an older developer that you can throw any film into, and it would develop to completion? I can't remember the name, it was made around the time of Mic-X, and you could shoot one roll of film at different EI's on different frames, and develop it all normally in that developer.

Diafine maybe? I once used Acufine, wow, the edge sharpness was too much.

Yama means "mountain" in Japanese, hence the logo. Don't mess with developers, it's color film. It says C-41 right on the box. The expiration date is 2022.09.

Seemingly for them it was cheaper to just print the box respectively than to add a stamping run.

But as I said above, they at least had 2 batches of cassettes, and respectively 2 different prints for the boxes.

Agfa also did 24+3 (=27) exposure films. So the 27 exposures does not automatically mean the film was intended for single use cameras.

In the end, it's 15 year old C41 film....you'll get something out of it but depending on the actual manufacturer it could be anything from as good as new to a stop under-exposed and colour shifted. Worth trying for the fun of it, I'd say.

This film is still fresh and it is made in Japan - thus likely Fujifilm.
It will be fine with normal color processing.

For a while Kodak sold 27 exposure rolls.

For a period in the late 1990s most manufacturers marketed their films as 27 exp (24+3)
I think it may have started with the single-use cameras and spread to normal 35mm rolls.

See also ‘Vibe photo 400’, 27exp produced in japan, another current custom labelling mainly sold in asia but also in europe.

27exp was until march a standard product of fuji for shorter rolls of premium 400.

The website (written on the box) says the film is discontinued. They sell that film and a cheap reloadable camera.
