Hard to find Gossen Ultra Pro (Same as MasterSix in Europe) and very rare Profi fiber Optic Probe! In addition to being a superb general use meter, this combination offers the unique opportunity to directly and accurately measure negative density, and to take measurements directly on a large format camera's ground glass.

The meter is in great shape - no case included. this is probably one of the most advanced meters ever made. It has two sets of "modes" one for standard photography and another for measure density, lux, etc. One meter does reflective, incident, contrast, density, flash ratio, perfect for the zone system, even includes a timer with audible alarm. Paired with this meter is to hard to find fiber optic probe - perfect for metering directly off ground glass!. This probe is electronically connected to the meter and is intended to automatically adjust for the light lost via the cable and probe. HOWEVER, this probe does not seem to be properly communicating with the meter - so it must be used like one of the older, non electronic interface probes by setting a 3 stop correction on the meter. That way it works just fine. The Probe is missing the Tin Cover/Label and has been opened for attempted repair, I assume, and there is some deterioration on the cable - but works fine (see photo).

-) there never was a electrically connected fiber-probe (in contrast to other attachments), so one will not miss anything by acquiring this probe.

-) though this meter is the successor of the Profisix and Lunasix F it does not let you "place" luminance deliberately at a zero-centered scale any longer.

I thought the "Profi " version automatically corrected for the light loss of the probe. It has the two "jack" connectors. And while the Ultra Pro does not have the "null" needle, there are a number of advantages for this meter - including the density readings!

Yes, that electrically connection serves to use that probe without the need to a compensating factor.

The images attached are of the Fiber Optic Probe -- not the Profi (as in Profi-Select TTL)

The Profi works with the Sinar Meter Back or on any standard 4x5 back with the Sinar 4x5 Metering Cassette.
It reads both ambient and flash. If you can find one (and the UltraPro), it's the most accurate method of calculating LF exposure
I've ever used.

This fibre optic probe is indeed called "Profi"-Flex". There is an older version that got no electrical contacts.

For the attachments Gossen used the prefix "Profi-" to indicate the ones with electrical contacts, and several attachments were made in both versions. So that prefix does not indicate the attachment as such.


You hinted at the probe that meters in front of the the ground glass. To use it with cameras larger than 4x5, you have to get you an adapter or substantially rebuild your camera. For farmats smaller than 4x5 it even gets more complicated.
Without rebuilding any camera focus is lost during metering.

The probe offered here in this ad thus is more versatile.

Thanks for clarifying that AgX, this is definitely the Profi-flex fiber optic probe designed to meter directly off the groundglass with no camera modifications. But please read the descriptions well regarding the interface on this probe.
