gossen repair

i have a gossen colormeter 3f
it takes a 9v block battery.unfortunately, during a recent battery replacement, i ripped the battery contact apart. i can get a replacement part easily enough t radio shack, but don' fell comfortable to do the work myself. who can recommend a qualifiedrepair shop? i don't want to send it all the way to germany. thanks.

How badly did you rip it? If it doesn't involve taking apart your equipment beyond what I'm comfortable doing, I may be able to help you. I am qualified in just about all types of electrical soldering.

If that doesn't work out, Quality Light Metric in Los Angeles which specialized in meters, or Zack's camera (an APUG sponsor) should be able to take care of it.

I guess it is only that hybrid-clip with cable that is broken.

Taking out the PC-board and solder your spare part should not be any problem to anybody used to let's say radio repairs.

I would do it in a heart beat if it's mine.... I'm just really careful when working on someone else's equipment.

Send it to Bogen Photo, they're Gossen's USA distributor and repair center.
