If it breaks so easysily a substitute should not be solution, rather a repair with a self-constructed tab.

It depends which meter you have, but Gossen seem to be happy servicing and calibrating relatively ancient products (my Lunasix 3, a couple of years ago) so they may have a simple method of supplying user-changeable parts too. A quick e-mail would get the answer.

Gossen has a form to order small parts. But the same time they state not to repair older meters (all analogue ones) due to lack of parts.

Is this what you need? From a Gossen Luna Pro SBC. apug 1.jpg

You don't say what model of Gossen lightmeter are you talking about ?

Yes, I was able to buy replacement doors directly from Gossen for $5 a piece plus $5 in shipping. I bought three ;just in case.

Now that you have ready spares, the one you put on the meter won't ever break.
At least, that is how that sort of thing usually works for me.

You might be best off buying a broken meter for cheap and scavenging the battery cover.
