Yeah, subject line leaves a bit to be desired.

It used to be that if I wanted to know "what new photographic papers have been released this year?" and asked Mr. Google, the query string was easy and the results were all about what I asked for.

Try that query in 2021. You'll get IlfordPhoto in the first 5 results but everything else is crap. So you think "maybe if I add 'silver' to the query, I'll get better results". Nope. You get more crap.

Sadness. Anyone know of a better way to find good results?

I find slightly better results on duckduckgo. It still has a habit of translating what I say-- when I entered your query, the first hit was photo printer paper.

B&H, Adorama, Freestyle. They have better search functions for what you need, and generally cover everything available in the States.

Actually, they only cover a fraction of the stuff available. The are each good suppliers, but there is whole world of photographic equipment and supplies that can't be found at mainstream suppliers.

Often, I find YouTube to be more productive than Google, Bing, etc. because creators there are often quick to mention or review new and emerging products.

Yes I used to think it was just me but I see too many others with the same complaint about Mr Google searches recently for it to be my imagination
