Just received this in an e-mail. Some great savings are possible.

Develop and print - old rate £4 per film
new rate 1st film £4 - additional films only £1.50 each
(e.g. a saving across five films of £11.50)

Develop and scan - old rate £4 per film
new rate1st film £2.25 - additional films only £0.75 each
(e.g. a saving across five films of £14.75)

Can I just point out that these are the INTERNATIONAL SHIPPING rates, and NOT the rates for "develop and print"

Note to Simon - It IS a little confusing if you read it quickly!

Mmm... so this is an improvement for Ilford's overseas customers only. Is this to make inroads or bigger inroads into its most important market which is clearly the N. American continent and especially the U.S.

Not likely. Ilford partnered with a lab here in San Clemente for its North American service. What you're looking at most probably reflects shipping discounts to customers outside North America but not in the UK. Otherwise, I'd expect the notice to have given those prices in $, not GBP.

You may be right but your logic dictates that in that case it would quote the prices in euros. Apart from GPB the other major currency that would affect most of the rest of Europe is the euro.

Well, there are two Web sites for Ilford direct. One for North America and the other for everywhere else. Here's the relevant Mobberley order form showing "Overseas" shipping charges quoted in GBP:
