Hi
Just in case anyone is looking for a decent enlarger/darkroom table, I found this simple small pine dining table at IKEA recently. It is flat-packed and very easy to put together.

With a bit of additional DIY work (some extra bracing with cheap lengths of pine from Bunnings), the table is rock solid and now has a full length MDF shelf underneath. Happy to provide further info if anyone is interested.

Yeah Ian, great idea. I went into Ikea intending to buy a small table and chairs and left several hours later with $800 worth of rugs, office chair, bathroom stand, the intended table and chairs plus, plus, all of which just fitted into my daughter's 4WD. The temptations are overwhelming. It's more than meatballs at Ikea!

Regards - Ross

It is a dangerous place, Ross. Slightly less dangerous when I am not with my wife though

My enlarger weighs approx 40kg, I use an old office desk, which is solid and heavy itself. Good that you could repurpose an Ikea branded desk for photography purposes though

Rockler Woodworking sells a steel router table which has casters that lock really well, no vibrations. I have two 4x5 enlargers on these and plan to mount the other four on them when the store has more tables and that will make my enlarger setup completely modular..Evan Clarke

I went somewhat upmarket at IKEA and bought the Norden gateleg dining table. Flat pack with "easy IKEA assembly" (yeah, tell me about it...).
Going to put castors on it soon so I can run rings around the studio!

I use a similar IKEA table about 4ft by 4ft. More than sturdy enough to support a Durst Modular 70 and with enough room underneath to accomodate a small 2 drawer pedestal.
