Good double weight Candidate for printing

I am running low on my stash of Ilford multi grade 8x10 rc, which I use for proofs, am interested in a decent candidate to replace it. Fixed grade is ok, as I rarely need anything higher than #3 paper.
What about the European papers? I really hate curly papers, but other than that, 100 sheet boxes are preferable.
Any suggestions for a proof paper?

You said double weight, but mention using RC now. If you want a good inexpensive RC paper try the Arista EDU Ultra VC RC from Freestyle. It is a very nice paper (for RC)-inexpensive and reliable. I make proof sheets on it and buy 250 sheet boxes for an even lower cost per sheet (also available in 100 sheet, of course).

I second that, but can also recommend the house brand at Adorama great price and very impressive results for the price. They have/ had free shipping on a 250 box.

Between the adorama and arista: I have used both pretty extensivley (have a lot of the adorama at home, all arista at school) and find the adorama to be nicer. I think it's about the same price too. If it's proof sheets only, it really doesnt matter though, so i'd just get whatever's cheaper. for proofs i use a kodak grade 2 drug store level paper, with the name of the paper printed on the back and all. really crappy paper, but i got a partially used 500 box for free, so i just use it for proofs, it is great for that purpose.

I'm presently using FomaBrom SP (warm-ish) and Slavich UniBrom 160 (cheapest, cold) fiber graded from Freestyle for proofing. They're pretty inexpensive and aiming for a "grade 3" as determined from testing seems sound, depending on your normal negative. Both are packed half the emulsion to the outside to accommodate some curliness, but I haven'y found that to be a problem in exposing and development. Forget the warnings about using only red safelight.

I only use RC for contacts of film strips (35, 120), before proofing.

Appreciate the feedback for our Adorama brand papers - I've passed it over to the purchasing department.

I,ve used your house brand fiber based paper in both glossy and matte surfaces and they are lovely but they seem considerably slower than the Arista brand papers from Freestyle. It doesn't bother me at all, as a matter of fact, my enlarger is so bright that I prefer a slower paper but I thought that both the Adorama house brand paper and Freestyle Arista paper, were produced by the same manufacturer. Am I misinformed?

As we don't ever reveal outside of the purchasing department - at any time, to any person - who is producing any of our house brands, then yes, you were most certainly mis-informed!
