Good British Engineering: lab on wheels

Strange that the issue of dailies just comes up when hardly any camera film is used anymore.
That should have happened in the hayday of cine film.

Well, not hat strange with the reduction in cine processing-capacity or rather -location in mind.
 
I saw this. Very neat! I was surprised (and pleased!) that there is still a demand enough to put together an operation like that. It sure would be fun to see in use!
 
I call them "digitographers" (TM, Copyright R. Miranda) or simply digi-idiots.

It would appear that the demand is high enough to warrant investing in a second trailer. Alpha2 should be rolling out in America as we speak.

Hopefully the availability of on-location processing might just be the factor in deciding a producer whether to use film or digital. (And it does 70mm )
 
The question is whether we see these mobile laboratories as indicators of remaining interest in camera films or as indicator of decline in the laboratory world.

Best to see it both ways...
