As said in the Lounge, I have to get rid of this camera, one way or the other. (the Lounge thread is here: https://www.photrio.com/forum/threads/some-news.186847/)
Technical stuff:
The camera is a Voigtlander Brilliant, the "box" or "toy" camera version. So there is no ground glass, focus is by guesstimating the distance.
Since the lens only opens to 7.7, there is room for error.
The camera is the German version, so the markings are in ... German.
Bad news: the shutter does not operate, may be it's fixable, IDK.
Good news: I think it's almost complete, save for a small screw that's one of the ends of the lens' focusing range.
Historical stuff:
this camera was given to me by a person I need to forget about (read the post in the Lounge, there's not a lot but that's enough). This person was in the French Navy during WWII (in the Allies camp, if this needs to be said).
The story around it is that it was plundered after the assault of Lorient submarine base. So the original owner might have been any German soldier/officer assigned to this base. His destiny is unknown to me (I think I remember I was told they found the base empty, but I was young and not sure I remember everything nor am I sure I was told the true story).
The camera goes for free, at least in EU. I think I still have the leather case for it, somewhere.
Sorry, I have no images of it, and can't find it at the moment. I'm sure it was not disposed of, so if there's interest I'll find it.
Feel free to accept it if you have any projects about it, I'd rather forget about it so the least I know about it is the better for me.
I won't discuss anything more about the camera, except postage information/rates/etc.
If it does not raise any interest, it will eventually get landfilled.
