I need to order gold toner. I've always used Fotospeed, but it is no longer made. I use it following sepia, to get those pinkish/peachy hues. Any recommendations?

I can't bring myself to buy OTC gold toner, it is much cheaper and very easy to make at home. There are many formulas out there, I stick with either K+ thiocyanate or NH4+ thiocyante with gold chloride for simplicity. Both are available at the formulary, but I would shop around for the gold. Prices vary widely.

100 ml of 1% gold chloride is running around $75. Then you mix it with cheap hypo, according to your chosen formula. In real world use it's fairly
economical. Many formulas and practices waste a lot. In most cases, you can combine longer toning with lower concentration. That single bottle will last me a year, and I do quite a bit of gold toning.

100ml of 1% gold chloride $60 at B&S right now.
Or $2 more and get 500ml of 0.2% ( the same amount of gold chloride ) and 500ml of 2% NH4SCN in the toning kit.

I haven't used it on a normal darkroom print, but I typically only use a few ml of the 0.2% at a time. At least for salt prints, it's not expensive per print.
