Not a scratcher but the early ones were known to jam at random times. The steel gears weren’t quite as smooth as the brass ones.Does it scratch film?

If I had $ 20,000 to spend I certainly wouldn't spend it on a Leica, especially not one in such poor taste as a gold plated one, firstly because I'm perfectly happy with my four Canon F1s, and secondly there are many other things in my life I need more.
