it was heartbreaking as the fire was burning... it only a bit less so, and hopeful, to see the debris, the repair progressing and imagine what was lost.

My son (17) toured the cathedral with high school friends the day before it burned. They got there just in time to see what it was like "before". Can't wait to see the "after".

If not "identical" I hope they'll take their time revisioning in order to avoid IM Pei - like failure. Maybe targeting 2025 for decision.
