Goerz Anschutz Strut Folding Plate Camera (13 x 18cm) with Extension Back
And 7-Inch Goerz Dagor Lens in a Helical lens mount.
This Goerz camera is cosmetically in very good condition, though it will need some work.
The shutter needs attention and the shutter curtain has separated, probably along the
straps which are along the edge of the curtain. The curtain will need to be replaced or repaired.
One of the strut hinges needs to be re-attached, the back is missing the ground glass.
The 7-inch f/6.8 Goerz Dagor lens is in good condition and has the original lens cap.
Normally this camera would have had the fold out extension in the front of 7 ½ inches.
This one has an extra extension back, that slides on the back and gives it 14 ½ inches total extension.
The GG back slides onto that rear extension. Folds up into a compact box, ready for travel.
Provenance: I bought this camera at an antique store in Bisbee, Arizona ten years ago.
According to the antique dealer this camera had belonged
to a Phelps Dodge employee who was either a mining engineer or a mine manager.
It was probably used to record the mine operations and historic Bisbee in the early 20th century.
Definitely a beautiful camera for display and with some work it could be usable to photograph with again.
