Glue recommendations

I need to glue bellows on a Polaroid 110A to metal. Was thinking of using contact glue but was wondering if there might be something better. I am adding a Graflex 120 roll film back to the Polaroid. It was going to be a pack film conversion but since Fuji is dropping the color film decided medium format was the way to go.

I use nonflammable contact cement. Apply to one surface and assemble with pressure for 15 to 30 minutes. Excess rubs off easily. The downside is its only available in quart cans.

contact cement is perfect for the job. small amounts are sold as barge cement n i think gorilla glue n shoe goo is another. apply to both surfaces, let dry n stick.

Yes Pliobond. Horrible smelling, but an excellent adhesive for this sort of bonding.

Solvent based contact cement allows no error correction and excess is difficult to remove. Pliobond is a trade name. Their #35 contact cement sounds interesting.

double sided tape is another alternative but get the gray rubber foam stuff 3m makes for auto trim. when you put it on, just stretch it a bit. as it contracts again after the parts aee mated, it will make a tight bond that will be very difficult to separate. tug on any 10 year old gm cars trim n see?.. and that was weathered!

I use this stuff for that stuff. It's 3M weather strip adhesive. Get the yellow not the black, and it will hang on there forever. It does give you some working time before it hardens. I used it to glue that vinyl "chrome" trim on the side of cars when I worked in the dealerships and none ever came loose or fell off.

The bottom link is the best thing I have ever used for patching bellows. Great stuff, and dries light tight and flexible.

Thanks everyone, was going with contact but I believe I will experiment with the 3M weather strip adhesive. I have used contact cement in the past and you have to work it wet to give yourself fudge factor but it does bond well. Leaving Friday on a road trip for a few weeks but will tackle the project when I return. Will post results then.

the black version of that 3m trim adhesive works great too. Not sure of the difference with the yellow but thumbs up for the black. I have used it on a lot of camera projects. The Black RTV silicone is great stuff too, and can fill gaps nicely whereas the 3M needs pretty close-fitting parts to really secure things well.

Uhu all purpose adhesive is the stuff to use. Readily available in tubes from any stationery shop (in the U.K.) I have used it to stick bellows to wood, and to metal. Works a treat, and very easy to use.

Finally got back to the fun stuff while the weather is bad. I used the black 3M trim adhesive and had great success, the bond seems solid and light tight. Have the medium format back trimmed and just a couple of more odds and ends to complete the transformation. Thanks again for all the suggestions.

Pliobond absolutely.

Beware, it works great but this stuff really stinks. Imagine a skunk that has been sniffing glue. The smell goes away when it dries though.
