Hello all,

I've been mounting some old slides recently with some glass Gepe mounts I've scavenged, and I've been wondering about sources for more mounts. Does anyone know if glass 35mm and 120 slide mounts are still being made? The impression I have is that the last manufacturers stopped production about ten years ago.

No, I don't think so.
I suppose you could DIY something using a 3D printer or even matte board and a utility knife, and a glass cutter and some float glass. Takes some work, but shouldn't be awfully difficult as long as it's for small numbers.

I used to take the pieces of glass from old slides, and use them as microscope cover slips on large geological thin sections.

If you did print your own 3d slide mounts, you could purchase glass cover slips meant for large microscope slides, and use them in photography slides.

Less bother is to trawl ebay now and again for old stock.

You can easily get a lifetime supply of mounts from ebay. Even with registration pegs. You may need to polish the glass, though, I find the edges collect crud over the years, possibly from the cardboard boxes they're stored in.
