I am looking for a glass film holder for my 4x5 or a way to make one from scratch or out of my film 4x5 holder. Any ideas? I am also looking for a glass negative carrier, actually 2 different types. One made of glass for my film and one for my glass negatives. Any help would be much appreciated.

years ago i printed some glass negatives for a friend. I was using a beseler 45 enlarger and of course the 4x5 carriers had that crazy little metal clip that would not allow the carrier to be separated. I found an Omega carrier that would separate into two pieces that fit that enlarger with no issues.

you might also think about making a "negative carrier" from matt board.

It will all depend on which enlarger your using.

You should be able to find a glass carrier for most enlargers for sale these days.

I've had carriers made by this guy that use's water to cut the holders out of sheet aluminum . His machine is computer controlled and saves the cut out program. I'm working on a 4X5 holder now for my zone V!. If you now any sheet metal places maybe ask them. It can get expensive ,more than ebay so balance it out.
