Came across these guys and thought I would try them out. They have the big amber glass jugs with lids for 2.73. They also have the Grolsch style beer bottles with the stoppers. Of course I think I will get my 12oz bottles from actually drinking the beer plus Grolsch are amber color.

I've gotten 1 gallon amber jugs free from my pharmacy.

Thanks Hubigpielover for the specialtybottle link. I know what I would buy: 8oz and 16oz PET Boston Rounds. The rule in my darkroom is No glass and No big bottles. Just because a stock solution mixes up to a gallon doesn't mean it should all go into a one gallon bottle. Many small bottles full to the top are the way to keep chemistry fresh and away from air. Forgive me and my fear of big glass bottles. I once dropped a glass 2.5 litre glacial acetic acid winchester on a laboratory floor: big mess, soda-ash clean-up, no deaths...lucky.

Anytime, I guess I never really thought about only doing a little bit at a time. One thing I envy about the rest of the world and my country is that there seems to be a lot of hobbyist clubs were someone can go to get info. We have one club for all of Louisiana and they meet once a month. My old schedule precluded me from going but now that I am unemployed I guess I should join and make the hour trip.

I generally only use glass in gallon sizes and I generally only use those for storing used chemistry for occasional trips to the sewage plant or photo lab or if I mix up 10 liters of color chems. I will use a few small glass bottles for storing % solutions of phenidone, bromide, benzotriazole but those are very thick glass.
