It would be really cool if those actually were photographs.

Thanks for posting the links. I find both photographers work interesting, even if a bit disturbing in the direct gazes of their subjects. A few of the Lux pieces remind me of Arbus.
I also enjoyed perusing some of the other Photoeye artists.

Photoeye is a highly successful Santa Fe NM photo gallery and publishing company.

I don't always "like" what they show, but it's always interesting and seems always to sell a lot of exquisitely done prints at high prices.

I did, still the question remains the same. I'm sure they will have great commercial appeal to a certain demographic....Veruca will want the whole set.

I don't personally "like" those "girls" photos, but I do "like" the extraordinarily high printing skills and the tightly consistent aesthetic of the project.

Wish my own color prints displayed that level of skill. Do yours?

You seem to imply some sort of negative attitude toward "a certain demographic." Does that mean you don't like photos that seem to have "commercial" appeal? What about Ansel's work, or HCBs?

Oh good, Im not the only one they look a bit tacky, like they should be on greeting cards.
Yes he is a very skilled editor and some of his other stuff is very good. I think good editing is probably the hardest skill to achieve, main reason why I choose darkroom printing is because Im far more comfortable trying to do it by hand. Figure it will take me 5-10 years to show any competency in it, if at all.... we must keep practicing and trying new things.
Im a cynical person, I cant help it. I hadn't really known about either of those photographers until a few years ago. I prefer painters, Arthur Boyd, Russel Drysdale, Arthur Streeton, etc are the peoples who inspire me......and Im no artist, they give me a connection I long for.
Please keep posting up photographers, I do like looking at peoples pictures. Ill try to contain my cynicism.
