I think I'm stepping away from photography for a bit. This camera is my absolute favorite, but I've struggled for too long to find happiness in a medium that for some reason, no longer produces it for me. So, letting some things go and doing some soul searching. Maybe I'll take up painting, who knows.
This is the latest V2 Gibellini GP810, Purchased new in February of this year. Minor marks on the very bottom where it attaches to the tripod. Other than that, pretty much a brand new rig.
I also picked up the Gibellini fresnel insert for it as well as the Gibellini loupe. If you were to purchase this new today it would run you $6231 + any taxes or fees (if applicable). Not to mention you'll have to wait for a long time to have it made.
Add to that the Rodenstock 300mm lens as well. From what I gather used prices run around $600. So, this kit, if you purchased the camera items new and lens used, runs somewhere around $6800. I'm asking far less.
Yes, this is a premium kit. No, I don't need to hear how you can take the same images with a cheaper camera. Everyone understands that. This is purely for someone that is wanting top end gear.
I have the original box for the camera with foam precision cut insert. I also have a case I transport it in that the foam is sitting in now. I'll include this case also.
I'm asking $5250 for the kit including lens. If you have been considering a high-end camera like the Gibellini, here's your chance at one that is pretty much new with extras for a cheaper price.
Would I consider trades? Not really sure. Maybe a solid Rolleiflex 2.8 series tlr as a partial. I also would consider a Leica 35mm f/1.4 (ASPH FLE) or 35mm f/2 (V2 ASPH) lens as a trade object.
Anyway, I'd prefer doing this exchange in person. Yes, shipping is something I'd do, but would love to hand this beauty over to the new owner myself. I live close to lovely tourist traps. Between Nashville, TN and the home of Jack Daniels, Lynchburg TN. Surely you could kill some time and make a mini trip out of it.
I have other lenses as well, including the Nikon 120SW ($600), Super Angulon 165mm ($1200), and Nikon 450mm ($1200).
This has been one of the toughest decisions to make. I wish I could find joy in making images, but it has been gone for a long time. Will I regret this? I'm sure I will down the road, but time will tell.
