Hi,

Have acquired a borosilicate GG from Steve Hopf this week, amazing product, affordable price tag. It's an easy person to deal with, never refuses or delay answer for any doubt about his products. Hundred p.c. satisfied customer, bought from his website,

Cheers,

Renato

Thank you for the heads up!

Do you have a current URL/facebook/etc. for him? I can't seem to locate anything current.

Steve,

As I'm not allowed yet to post links, as a spammer counter-measure, his website is at hopfglass dot com,

Cheers,

Renato

Here is the current home page link for Dead Link Removed. I just this moment successfully accessed it. It's running in another tab right now as I write this post.

I have personally purchased from Steve in the past and was nothing less than extraordinarily pleased. The product was a custom 8x10 borosilicate glass with 1-inch grid lines. It is now perfectly installed in my fully restored Calumet C1 8x10.

Steve's grinding technique results in a demonstrably brighter screen than many others. Observe an incandescent filament through a standard screen, then through a Hopf screen. You will instantly see the difference and understand.

Steve is one of the three nicest and most accommodating niche photo vendors on the Internet. Another is Carol at Flutot's Camera Repair, who has serviced a number of standalone shutters and shutter/lenses for me. And the third is Jon Goodman of light seal replacement kit fame. Jon's working email contact as of 09/22/2014 is: jon_goodman@yahoo.com

All three of these individuals are so trustworthy to me that I would not hesitate to send payment for a job in full before the job was even started.

Yes, site is on again. Thank you.

There are laws of physics. Reducing grainsize and enlarging overall brightness are contrary.
Maybe one day I can test a glass from him.

Does this mean I have to be looking at a super bright object to notice the difference? Will I notice if I point it at a rock, stump or a shoe which are more likely photographic subjects?

Here's what I've just discovered this morning. Dead Link Removed seems to be an old site.

Dead Link Removed brings up a current web page with descriptions and an email order link.
