Is Beattie Intenscreen worth the trouble and expanse to get for a Sinar P2 or is there other bright screens to consider? How is the focusing compare to the original screen that I find rather dark. A friend of mine used a Boss screen on his 8x10 P2 and find the focus was not OK when screen was in focus the image was unfocused after developing, very frustrating. I ordered a Beattie Intenscreen from B&H but unfortunately I was unaware that Sinar had 2 sizes so I got the smaller one that does not fit my P2 metering back. So if anyone is interested in a new never used Beattie for Sinar give me a note. (the screen is in Sweden) The price was over 300 US including shipping
I have a Beattie screen on one of my 10x8's and it's superb, but the standard fresnel/screns on my Wista field camera and Cambo monorail are just as good and far cheaper.
As for focus problems that depends whether the camera was designed for the fresnel in front of or behind the glass, so I'd guess that's why your friend has a problem. The Beattie replaces the glass and causes no focus problem.
