It should, but I doubt it'll be a very good choice as the sensor likely outperforms this old lens by a mile.

Ah, these static flickr links must only work for a day or so. But this link to the original size gets coverted to the standard Media thing on this forum. So you'll have to go to the lower right corner and click View All Sizes.

Thanks. That looks good. If I understand correctly, the negative is 120 Kentmere 400, and the negative was made with a CZJ Sonnar 180mm f/2.8 lens @ f/5.6. And then you copied the negative with a Pentax SMC D FA 50mm f/2.8 macro lens, using 6 overlapping shots, right? But on what digital camera?

Have you compared a six-shot stitch to a single shot at the same viewing magnification?

Yes. Pentax K-1 with pixel shift enabled.

I have, but I don't have that exact shot uploaded. Closest one is this:
My conclusion is I don't usually need that much stitched detail, and the limitations of the camera's lens and pressure plate start to show in the 6-stitched shot. 2-stitched shots work better for me on 6x6. Might do 3 or 4 stitched ones on a 6x9 if I had a sharp camera in that format like a Fuji GW690, alas mine is dead.

Two stitched shots is what I do for 6x6cm, but with fewer pixels from my 16MP APS-C sensor. My resulting digitized images are about 4600-4700 pixels square, which is adequate for my purposes.

This one is TriX shot using a Mamiya C220 Professional and 80mm f/2.8 lens. For digitizing, I use a 75mm f/4.0 Rodenstock APO-Rodagon D process lens attached to my Fuji XT-1 camera using bellows.

Looks great to me.
