getting started on building a 8 x 20

Hi all, new here on the forum and lookng for a little guidance. I am a working pro. I have shot industrial commercial for over 20 years. as time hase moved forward I have gotten disenfranchised , as my wife said today " its to the point where I'm embarresed to be seen in public with a camera"
Not good.
We have been wanting to return to our large format roots for a while and have dreamed of building a 8 x 20, last month a friend / local photographer passed away and I was given a semi complete Korona 8x10 by his neice.

Has anyone made this conversion and be willing to share some experience? Dimensions? etc.

nope, cut that in half and you get 8x20
I can't help iwth a conversion but I'm just updating my site on an 8x10 I built last year. I'd never used a milling machine or lathe prior to this so my techniques may be different than what someone who knows what they are doing would do. The pics are all out of order so bear with me.

Now that got the gears turning! I recently began a apprenticeship as a machinist. Lots of great ideas. Just need to figure out some critical dimensions and off I go.

You'll need an 8x20 holder in order to get the dimensions for the back. They weren't built to specific standards, meaning one company's holders were a different size to another's.

I'm not usually the first one to post about this (John?) but have you considered making the camera 7x17" format? Bellows, lenses, film, filmholders, groundglass, processing tubes and contact frames, etc. may be easier to find in that format.
