ok, I've done darkroom stuff before, but all the chems were mixed and other than knowing D-76, I wasn't sure what brand/type the fixer stop bath ect were. I think I'm settling on diafine so that everything is 3+3.....but fixer, I notice C-41 fixer is CHEAP compared to b/w ex: http://www.amazon.com/Kodak-C-41-Fi...r_1_21?ie=UTF8&s=photo&qid=1245442673&sr=1-21 kodak C-41 fix, vs http://www.amazon.com/Sprint-Record...=sr_1_9?ie=UTF8&s=photo&qid=1245442673&sr=1-9 sprint fix. Can you use c-41 fix on b/w negs? I know the bleach is a no no, but the fix?

My understanding is that you can use C-41 fix for B&W. That's what I use and haven't had any problems.

Absolutely. I do it; works beautifully, dirt cheap. No downside
I'm aware of.

I buy it by the cube, which makes 5 gal diluted.
