Verichrome Pan film seems to hold up really well as it ages too. I've shot several rolls of 120 from the late 1960's and early 1970's. Please post photos when you've shot some.

I don't know if I want to shoot this right away. I'm planning a trip to Idaho, Montana and Wyoming that will include stops at at least 12 places I know my grandfather was at back in the 30s and 40s when he was using his Kodak..... and I have the negatives for those images. I'm planning on stopping at those same places and using my Kodak and take the same image. But it's scheduled for August, and I don't know if Ilford will have the 9cm film from the ULF Promo out by the time I leave. So I may end up using this to shoot with.

I have to agree, Verichrome Pan does seem to last forever. I still have some film packs of 4x5 VP from early 1970's. My only problem is that they are a pain to develop. They are the same thin film base as the roll film.

Sounds like a great project. I don't want to hijack the thread, but if you're interested, here are two frames from a roll I shot a few weeks ago in an Ansco Buster Brown box camera:

Wow! That's kind of like the Holy Grail for me, but yikes, I can see where developing those would be a pain. The roll film is difficult enough!

Sounds like a wonderful project! Good luck!

Great image quality. How did you expose and develop?

Thanks. I exposed at EI 20-25 and developed in Rodinal 1+25 for 7:00 @68f (adjusting time for actual temperature), plus an extra 10%-15% or so on top of that. There's some fogging, but it's not too bad. These are just negative scans, but they should print without too much difficulty.

Thanks. I will try that. I have shot several rolls of VP from the late 50s to the 80s. It's been kind of hit and miss, usually OK. I shoot at 100 or 50 and had used TMax developer@ normal time. Never had negatives as good as yours though.

I've shot about 12-15 rolls from the late 1960's to early 1970's and all turned out fairly well given enough exposure and development. Sadly, I only have one roll left. I'd be interested to hear how your rolls from the 1950's turn out. I've shot one roll (different brand) that was almost that old. I got OK images with it, but there was some mottling in the emulsion.

Of all the films that have come and gone Verichrom Pan is the one I miss. 6X9 K2 filter, D76 1:1 great film.

This is VP 620 expired 1957. I gave it the Photoshop treatment. Getting a decent print out of it proved difficult and I eventually gave up.

Well, the fact that you pulled any image at all out of film that old is quite an accomplishment.

I have a few rolls of VP120 left from the 1990's. Someone had a brick of the last run, but they wanted $20/roll. I wasn't about to pay that price for the film. I'll just do without

I agree. I found my rolls at flea markets for about $1 each.
