George Eastman House video

Thanks for the post. One thing I was recently wondering was if Eastman House was owned by Kodak. It was a worry to me in that I know of several other fantastic collections that were lost when the company that owned them went bankrupt. They were all sold off at auction to pay the creditors.
 
No connection to the Eastman Kodak Company. It's an an independent, non-profit museum. During the '80s Kodak made a major contribution that helped fund the building project that added space and returned the house to the way it was when George Eastman lived there. Needless to say, in recent years the EK contributions have dried up - which is why the GEH has to be an active fund raiser!
 
The outstanding feature of this institution is the idea, or insight, that art and technology are related for this medium.

Something I wish would be true elsewhere in the museumworld where technical ignorance and disinterest exists.
 
I just realized that entering George Eastman House via the frontdoor, their homepage that is, would not lead you to that video.
Actually, lurking around the house I did not find it at all.
Maybe someone tell them to place it next to their door...

I agree with you. To get there you need to go to the homepage box that says 'Connect' (the box has a blue bird in it) and select 'Blog'

The blog has lots of good information and probably should be better promoted.
