Since labservices in sweden are going down further, much higher prices and lower qualites.
Im about to try Dead Link Removed

Are them any good in E-6 processing?

Is it safe to send my films to them from sweden?

I've used them a handful of times for E6 and I've never had a problem. I can't comment on postage to Sweden, however, as I'm UK based.

Hi!
I can't vouch for that lab as I haven't used them. From what I read about them, they are cheap, but they get very pricey with postage. And I tried to simulate a purchases and couldn't find a way to order delivery to Sweden.

I can only recommend the lab I use. It is very good and prices are cheap. They also deliver to Sweden for £5.

I've had good results and good service from Snaps too.

You could try Ag Photo Lab http://www.ag-photolab.co.uk/ from whom I have also had excellent service and who apparently will also send to Se for around £5

<rant>What a half-baked web site</rant> hardly sets a good impression.... (Yes, I know it probably looks better with Internet Explorer).

I've had a reasonable service from Peak Imaging with C41. Got some E6 sheets to send to them sometime along with another batch of C41. Best thing to do is drop them a line asking about postage charges.

Re Genie Imaging. Yes. Recommended. Good E6 service and quick turnaround. I use this lab for all my E6 films.

Quick turn around for E6 and C41, never had any problems with slides from them, but my negs are always full of crap and water marks.
I keep going to them for C41 just because I'm skint and I can't be bothered to develop C41 at home.

I've used them quite a few times, their E6 dev only option is too cheap not to and they are only 10 minutes from my house so I can collect and save postage. The slides are well developed but I have also had some dust and small finger prints on them. For stuff I really care about, I also go to Peak Imaging and think they are first class.

Believe it or not Genie's website has substantially improved, it used to be truly awful. There prices have also been going up regularly over the last few years from £1.99 +vat to £3.35 +vat in about two years. Still cheaper than most.

I recommend A.G. Photographic their work in C41 and E6 is some of the best and cleanest I have ever seen, no scratches drying marks etc. and their prices are reasonable.

I've used them, saving on post as I am London based. I have also used several other labs, some them mentioned here, all to varying degrees of success in that I find it hard to get consistently clean, well developed slides. I think generally there is a problem with E6 with volumes, something Genie mentioned once saying they need more. I think this translates into keeping chemistry fresh for consistent quality. I would be happy with one E6 lab that had enough throughput to ensure quality. Perhaps all the labs should combine services to setup a mega lab to meet this. Hell, Dwaynes ended up as the only lab in the world processing Kodachrome and I got beautiful slides from them compared to what I used to get from Hemel Hempstead Kodak when they were still going.

The poster might also like to try Photostudio13 in Munich, I think they have a large throughput as E6 is more widely used in Germany. I have used them when I had some Scala to process, which they still do. The total cost of 4 rolls of E6 in 120 including postage comes to about the same as sending film off to one of the UK labs (with the slightly stronger pound). Interestingly their E6 processing is cheaper than C41,. eg 120 E6 costs €4.63, whereas C41 is €6.15. That is the opposite to everywhere else. Personally I don't see the advantage of C41 unless you're going to print directly.

I have been away for a while hiking and fishing in Lapland again.
After some research on internet i desided to send ten rolls to Peak image.

I did came home yesterday and my rolls haved arrived. Must say 100% perfect job done by the lab. Flat and no scratces or any blemishes.

4.90£ a roll minus 10% for 10-24rolls is a bargain compared to swedish labs that sucks. Scratches and fingerprints, and they charge almost 10£ a roll!!

Think it`s to small market in Sweden. Just 9 million people living here and they are high tech freaks most of them.

Much thanks for yuor answers!

Just to bring this thread to a close, Genie is no longer processing film. Their website announced that they ceased as of 9 January, 2015. :-(

Hate to see that, as they were convenient for me to get to and had an excellent quality-to-price ratio. Looks like it's time to head back to Peak Imaging--or, more likely, eBay all the colour film in the fridge, sigh.

Developing C41 is simpler than developing black-and-white, no need to be scared of it. E6 is similar, just an extra stage or two. If your local lab closed then just use the mail (same as the entire country used to do) or do-it-yourself!

If you're looking for a cheap place in London now Genie's closed, head to Eye Culture.

If you're looking for somewhere a bit more upmarket, and with excellent scans, I'd recommend Rapid Eye.

That is a real shame about Genie Imaging stopping film processing. Yes I know I can do E6 myself like I already do BW and C41 but it was really my lack of spare time and their competitive price which prompted me to send in two dozen rolls of slide film last summer.

Looking at London alternative labs, has anyone here actually used the aforementioned Eye Culture in Bethnal Gn? According to the thread below they use a minlab rather than dip-n-dunk.

any experiences with them?

I don't have first-hand experience, but a few of my friends use them for paid jobs etc. and have no complaints.

I've used Eye Culture recently, but only for C41 dev. Unfortunately for me they are closed on Sundays.

I've been a Snaps Photo Services customer for over 2 years now and I have never had a problem and I like their scans.
As I sent at least 5 rolls at a time, it works for me the p&p costs.
