Hello, all!

Just got my gelatin sample! A 150 gram pack of 240 Bloom / 30 Mesh pharmacutical-grade gelatin from Gelita.

I still can't start my tests and it will take some time before I finish setting up my lab. But we can talk about gelatin, right? :D

Along with the gelatin pack, I got this sheet with a lot of specifications and thought that, maybe, an engineer (like Ron, for example :cool:) could tell me something about it:
Chrome
<= 2.0 ppm

Ash
<= 2.0 %

Hydrogen Peroxide
<= 10 ppm

Sulphur Dioxide
<= 40 ppm

Arsenic
<= 1.0 ppm

Nitrogen
>= 15.0 %

Lead
<= 1.5 ppm

Heavy Metals
<= 20 ppm

pH (6.67 %)
5.0 ~ 6.0

Viscosity (6.67 %)
34 ~ 45 mP

Humidity
8.0 ~ 13 %
So, should I even try this gelatin or should I trash it right away?

Cheers,
Flavio

It looks ok.

A big concern is the amount of live bacteria. Was there a test sheet on that? Here in the US, all original packages of gelatin must have certification that Tuberculosis and Anthrax bacteria are below a certain point.

Of course, in the EU it must be different.
