If you are still interested in a 135 for the Nikon, the best one out there but it is not the cheapest solution is the 135mm f2 DC. Crazy sharp, with the added ability to decrease the depth of focus at smaller f-stops. An incredible lens, especially for portraits.

Quick update:

Since I posted my original message in this thread I've picked up a Hasselblad 50mm Distagon and I just now bought a Nikon 105mm/2.5 AI. The AI-s might have some advantages (built-in hood, etc.) but I came across a very nice AI for a reasonable price from a respected seller so I decided to give it a try. Next up will be a Leica Elmarit 28mm ASPH but that may have to wait for a (little) while.
