Garry's Camera?

Has anyone used Garry's Camera for any service or repairs of their camera? I have a Nikkormat that needs an overhaul.

I used Garry's Camera for a film transport problem with a Minolta x570. I sent an email and described the problem and he let me know it should not exceed the cost of a standard CLA. I received my camera back with a full CLA and fully functioning. Camera was packed well and there were no surprises.

I'm actually packing a camera up to send to him soon. Another older Minolta, it's getting harder to find techs who will work on them.

I contacted Garry and he responded quickly and seemed very competent based upon our communications. I'll be shipping it as soon as I get to a post office.

I used his services a few years ago. I successfully repaired a SRT-201 with a sticky shutter. He was not able to repair a SR-1 with mirror weirdness, but did not charge for that. Fees were quite reasonable.

I don't think it's the same business, John. Garry's Camera Repair is in Illinois. Gary Camera is in Indiana.

I used Garry's to prevent rotting foam from damaging the pentaprism on my Oympus OM-1 ...good price, good work.
