The usual remedy for the Canon squeak is a drop of oil into the mechanism, using a syringe.

he is getting ALL the points that need a touch of Lube, including a few that can not be accessed without pulling the Mirror Box. If he is doing this for a customer,he does not want to have the customer sending the Camera back with a complaint in a month.
