These remind me of the scenes from the MADMEN series on TV, probably because it is the same era. Maybe it is because I expect B&W from Winogrand but somehow I think that most of the shots would still have more impact in B&W. Street photography lends itself particularly well to B&W
Most black and white photographers have some colour in their work, so I can't say I'm surprised. What I find interesting in how well he uses colour in about 50% of his photographs. It is testiment to his skill as a photographer, in my opinion. However, the other half, he was obviously seeing in black and white and might as well have been (probably would have even been better in black and white, actually).
