Gantz Speed Ez-El Discontinued?

I can't find Gantz Speed Ez-el anywhere. Is AJ Gantz out of business? Thanks!
 
They are plentiful used via lawnsales, craigslist.

I built one when in high school for a metal shop project.

For the record, it's "Ganz", not Gantz.

I don't know for sure, but I would expect that these easels have not been made for years. There are many of them available on the used market, however.

There is an A J Ganz Inc in Los Angeles that has something to do with toy balloons. Don't know if it's the same company.
 
I have a few...possibly as many as several of varying sizes. Let me know what you are looking for.

Thanks Bob. I saw that one but it has a defect that the seller says can be fixed with super glue. I'm not sure that would work..
 
Super glue probably would work if the mating pieces could be cleaned well enough, or else, a good epoxy, which might work better. Looks like it has been re-listed at a lower price, if that helps, for a 20x24, you could wait a long time for a better one to show up.
 
I'd go with a small tack weld done by someone who knows what they're doing. Won't be as pretty as a glue "fix", but will hold. I have an 11x14 (shameless plug - for sale on LFF), but I don't think I've seen anything larger than 16x20 "in the flesh".
 
I havent seen such a large speed easel myself either, almost as rare as the 4x6 postcard version. Been looking for that one for years lol. The fix seems simple enough, maybe use something such as weldbond and a clamp for a quick cheap fix. You can sand the joints a bit to roughen them up for a better bond.
 
I never knew they made the things that large, I have an 11X14 or maybe two. I could see the utility of a 16X20 one.

99.9% of the time, give me a decent 4 blade please.

I agree, re: the tack weld, assuming you can find someone with the skill. Otherwise glue might be your friend.
I'm not sure I've ever seen an 11x14 one, let alone 16x20, I'll wager they didn't make very many.

So lucky!!! They are like hens teeth.

The larger size speed easels are really useful if your enlarger setup doesnt allow you use a thicker edged 4 blade.
 
FWIW the ad says the 20 X 24 easel is ''fully functional" (presumably as is). I used to use 8 x 10 speed ez-els, which were OK, but I'd think ones that large would be awkward to use. OTOH a four blade 20 x 24 would probably be quite costly.

Damn it. It was so inexpensive that I almost bought it myself with the idea of holding it for you. But I have no use for it and wasn't sure I'd recoup my money if you really didn't want it...
