I recently started posting to the gallery, maybe 4 or 5 photos a week. However, I'm struggling w/ something and it's not the fault of the gallery. It's me, and it's pretty stupid.

When I first see the two gallery photos on the side of the web page, I ck to see how many likes they have. If there's even one, then I don't want to add my photo to the gallery because it kicks one of the photos off that sidebar. If the photos have no likes, then I see it as a green light to post a photo!

Does anyone else do this, or is it just me? That sidebar is a coveted space, it seems that once the photos go away from there they disappear. I know they're now in the gallery, but it still feels as if they just left the website.

Well, that's kind of you to be that considerate, but I have had recent indications that many people must look at the gallery display. So the thumbnails by the forum just substitute for a "See latest" button. I've seen images on the 2nd and 3rd and even deeper pages on the latest gallery continue to grow their number of views. This newest gallery setup also puts a band of five or so adjacent image thumbnails below the viewed selection. (Hmm -- I'm saying that as a desktop user not sure what the mobile devices display.)

I do understand also that occasionally some like to post a "body of work." I believe there's a limit of five in a 24 hour period. That could be a lot of postings if everyone did it, but in recent history such activity has seemed not too frequent or abusive.

I generally try to limit myself to one or two, or spread a larger number over a couple of days, but admit I've not been all that active in shooting or posting lately.

I check the sidebar to see if there are new postings in any of the categories since the last time I was on the site. If there are new gallery postings I click on the tab and look at all of them.

As the galleries can now be viewed by everyone, I'd suggest that you just post away. Perhaps separate out your own postings a bit, but otherwise realize that if someone likes your image in the sidebar, they are more likely to go into the galleries themselves, in which case they will be presented with other images as well.

I view Photrio 95% of the time on my phone. No side bars there. I immediately check the new posts then if time permits I check out the gallery.

I have no etiquette.
Always check out the gallery first, then if have time look at the forum to see if there is any treads that aren't the same old about developing and film etc.
Great to see there's a regular amount of new pictures in the gallery, I would like to see a full new page every day and more from those that dont post pictures too often.
