Hi there,

Any idea from where this light is leaking? it is on most frames but in different volume, same structure though.
I tried to black tape the rear window on my contax g2 and it did not make a change.
This example is as hardest it gets, mostly it's much less strong.

Just a guess on my part, and only because something similar happened to me - not because I have any special idea about that type of leak.

Try the edges of the film back/door. On my 35mm, the foam light-seal at the hinged end of the door had degraded, and light leaked in on the take-up spool. It was probably like that for years, but I only noticed when I took some pictures without the half-case on the camera.

Try some tape along the edge of the door - my first test would be on the side with the take-up reel. If that helps, you should probably reseal the entire back. If not, the problem is likely elsewhere.

It appears to be coming from the top center, so I agree, tape up the back door and see if that fixes it.

Wot! You want to go out in public with gaffer's tape on a Contax G2? How very - well, lowbrow... On a Holga, sure. On a G2, no! Terminally un:cool:.

Foam light seals, definitely. I had this problem with an older G1 (silver sticker model) I bought cheaply. Cost a small mint to repair (in Australia anyway, but then everything is expensive Down Under), but now the camera is as good as new. If you already have Zeiss lenses for the G, may be worth the cost.
