DESCRIPTION: G Yashica Electro 35 GSN With Yashinon DX 45/1.7 Lens, Manual, Half Case. Serial #H1367863. As shown.

CONDITION: Overall pretty good condition with some soiling, finish/age wear, dings in filter threads, needs light seals, battery compartment had a corroded battery in it but doesn’t look like it caused any noticable damage other than the battery cap. Rangefinder is pretty clear and working, lens glass is pretty clear and no scratches seen but there is about a 3/16th spot of fungus on the inside back of the front element, blades look ok, camera cocks and fires at the default setting (1/500). No battery to test further. May have other issues I’m not aware of…Selling as described at a bargain price for parts, repair or restoration.

Manual has wear, but is usable. Half case has soiling and wear.

I'm amazed nobody's snatched this up at that price! I already have one and I'm tempted to get this just for the manual, lol.

Also, pretty much everything I've ever read says your original post was correct with the 1/500 shutter speed without a battery. The 1/30 is the shutter speed at the flash setting.

Thank you.

Now I'm confused: I brought out a Yashica GSN and a Yashica GT. The GT has been cla'd, but not the GSN. With the GSN, looking at the shutter without the battery, it looks and sounds like the shutter speed is 1/500 on both the flash and auto settings. With the GT, the shutter speed seems to be slower than 1/30 on the flash and auto settings. But with a battery, the shutter speeds with flash settings are accurate on both and they vary of course on the auto settings. I've gotten great results with both cameras.

Moral of the story: Always have a fresh battery with a back up! Good luck with the sale.
