G. Leitmeyr Munich V Weitwinkel Anastigmat 120mm f6.8 (Doppel-Anastigmat)

I purchased a cheap G. Leitmeyr Munich V Weitwinkel Anastigmat 120mm f6.8 mounted in a Synchro-Compur-P shutter; the lens-shutter was sold "As Is" because of lens haze and sluggish shutter. Took a chance since I want to learn how to CLA a Synchro-Compur MX shutter. And the seller is correct, there is a light haze in the rear lens group.

Took little effort to disassemble the front and rear lens group by unscrewing the inner lens using rubber friction tool. I read in this forum or may be another forum posted by Ole Tjogen that he has an "Angulon-like" Leitmeyr Weitwinkel 121mm f6.8. I post here confirming that the Leitmeyr Weitwinkel 120mm f6.8 is indeed a 4/4 Doppel-Anastigmat.

I will end up using this lens since the haze was easily removed using Zeiss lens wipes. The four lens elements are now crystal clear! Now I need to watch some videos on how to CLA a Synchro-Compur MX shutter; it does fire at all speed but just slightly slow.

That is interesting. I see them sometimes on Ebay, and I assumed they were either of the Angulon or double-Gauss type. Can you confirm that it consists of four meniscus elements?

I see now that here is also an "O Weitwinkel Anastigmat". I have always assumed that the letter had something to do with the lens being coated, like V-Vergütet. Maybe it does, or maybe it has to do with the construction of the lens? Or maybe the construction was changed, improved, or different constructions were used for different focal lenghts.

The Leitmeyr Sytar, normal lens, is a dialyte like the Eurynar, Celor and Dogmar, and very good.

Yes, I can confirm that my lens consists of four (4x) meniscus elements, one element in each of the four holder shown in the photo. The orientation is the similar to a Meyer Gorlitz Weitwinkel Aristostigmat.

JPD, I think you mean "V Weitwinkel Anastigmat" in your post, not "O Weitwinkel Anastigmat".

Thank you for the confirmation. I have been thinking of getting a wide angle of classic construction, but the Angulon feels too common, so a 4/4 double-Gauss is more interesting to me.

A few have an "O" instead of "V":

Your picture shows the lens to be a 105mm.
I have a 120mm Leitmeyr which is also the same formula and is supposed to cover 5X7.
