A while back ( probally no more than a couple months back ), someone offered me a good deal ( I think here on apug ) on a bulk roll of TechPan with the bulk loader, and four rolls of Agfapan 25 for bout 50$. I finally got around to trying out a strip of the tech pan, the undeveloped leader seemed weird looking, so I went ahead and developed some test shots. Sure enough the whole damn roll was fogged, and not even that in the weirdest pattern i've never seen. The edges were solid black, and every so many length (it seemed to be the exact same increment) There would be a black back straight down the frame and accross the frame as well, with haze on top and bottom. Now I'm weary bout trying out one of the agfapan rolls. *sigh*

Lines drawn in where I see a pattern.

... On the bright side it served it's purpose as a focus/sharpness test for the rangefinder....

Tonight I'm gona pull a strip out in the dark, and develop it to see the extent of the damage, and the rule out the little plastic reloadible canister.

Ok seems the bulk roll is fine, I took a strip of it out in the dark, developed it, and it came out clear. I traced my step back, and I found the culprit to be this plastic reloadible cartridge with a twist off bottom cap. It probally had it's felt wear down or something other because when i rolled the back strip up, the lines were pretty corresponding to the shape. Did another flash/sharpness test again, this time exposed for ISO 25, set the flash accordingly and had the Canon P on X, could only find a development time with HC-110 for "32 to 64" for 6 to 12 minutes with HC110 dilution F (1:79), so i figured I'd roughly guestimate that I should do something like 1:120 for 6 minutes at 68F, and use 400 ml of total volume ( as opposed to 200 ml) to avoid possible exahaustion of the developer early. The negatives are drying right now but i think i nailed the dilution/time on the head.
