Hi All,

We will have a brief site outage tonight (30mins or so) as I am having our primary disk upgraded. It will be a newer disk with more storage. This is part of the prep for our future migration to the new system, as discussed in this thread: (there was a url link here which no longer exists)

Thanks,
Sean

for the curious, we should notice a significant speed boost after the upgrade.

our old disk:

Intel: 25nm NAND Flash Memory technology with SATA 3Gb/s interface support, the Intel SSD 320 Series delivers sequential read speeds of up to 270 MB/s and sequential write speeds of up to 220 MB/s.

our new disk we are moving to:

Intel: 20nm Intel® NAND Flash Memory technology with SATA 6Gb/s interface support, the Intel® SSD DC S3500 Series delivers sequential read speeds of up to 500MB/s and sequential write speeds of up to 450MB/s.

We're traveling and staying in a motel. They have notoriously bad internet connections but APUG is popping along better than at home.

Thanks,

I'm on a 100 Mbps local trunk line at home. (Don't ask.) Page loads always had a slight delay before. Now they are just about instantaneous. Click, and the entire page renders in a single pop. How cool is that???

Hello Sean ,

I could not access to APUG for 24 hours in Istanbul and still cant with Turkish IP address. I changed to london and everything is normal.
Did someone ban me - this is going every two weeks and I am overdosed - or whats going on ?

There is no ip or region banning, I think something is off with your ISP. You might need to subscribe to a VPN service that gives you an alternate location.

broken APUG

Sean--APUG recognizes my login and permits me to read and post, but the standard gallery is no longer available nor can I upload to it. This has been the situation for at least two weeks now, well before the New Year changeover.

Thanks, MTS

I'm not Sean, but I'm guessing that it may be due to your subscription status expiring.
