Sean;

It seems to load 1/4 page with the latest photo an empty tiny rectangle at the upper right. Then it stops. It seems to hang there until something happens, then advertisements begin to appear and the screen fills half way. It stops again, then the banner ad appears and it continues.

It looks as if it is waiting for the ads to appear, at least in some cases.

The host has identified a few issues with Apache and cpanel so are working on it now. Ron, I think what you saw was a result of the server load spiking just before the crash. I think we might be ok once the host does their thing.

About four minutes ago, I tried just typing www.apug.org and I got a database error. I chose articles from my history and no problem with access. Trying now in another tab. Nothing. Had to back door it to get in here.

I just made a post and it told me that I had not waited 2 seconds since the last search. :D Now that was odd. Then it returned me to the advanced page and said the post was not successful. I checked, and the post was there.

So...... Strange things are happening!

I found 1,000's of errors in the weblogs related to 1ip, possibly a searchbot going haywire so I've blocked it at the firewall. Will keep monitoring..

It looks fine from up here. Maybe network path issues?

Must be something in the air ;o My compu crashed and 20,000 pictures with it. I've got a few GB's of b/up so it might be helpful to me to clean up my files. But that has nothing compared to the worlds largest analogue photography site.....Looks fine also from the western side of Canada. :blink:

That just me trying to get memcached running. Might get a few more brief errors like that over the next hour, the error should only last about 5 seconds though.

The loading times are slow, pages doesn't show or are garbled. I mean, it's about 980 - 1000 users over an hours time - and it's not like we do PS actions in real time here, either... What's up, doc? :smile:

Looks a bit better at the moment. I guess the memcached makes it work better. I had slow response earlier, saying it was waiting for photocentric.co.nz. I'll keep looking, I'll send a screenie if I catch anything.

Thanks, I did notice a waiting for error last night but could not reproduce it after I restarted my browser. Memcached will definitely help things, vBulletin is designed for it, it was just a matter of getting memcached on the server and updating the vBull configs. I'm noticing huge improvement so far.

FWIW... I felt as if the site seemed crisper reacting and quicker today. I then stumbled into this thread and would guess it was what I had been sensing. Carry on soldier!
