fyi- Recent site outage

Hi All,

Sorry about that. Something obviously went very wrong with our DNS failover service at Amazon. The site was unresponsive due to backups running. The service is supposed to re-route to a failover page, once the site is back it re-routes traffic back to the site. I tested this a few times without issue but for some reason, this time it got stuck. I've disabled the failover for now.

If we have any AWS Route53 gurus in here I'd love to speak to you.

I thought it was a planned "intervention" for people like me who are addicted to APUG

And I thought Sean had just stumbled over that very cable and pulled that plug...

But maybe such sabbatical would be a good idea.
