Hi All,
I have implemented a new custom coded APUG Groups home page. You can access it by clicking "Groups" in our main site menu, or click here: (there was a url link here which no longer exists)
This was an effort to make the Groups landing page far more informative and 'at a glance'.
The Groups landing page now shows:
Sidebar containing:
-A collapsible menu of all groups
-groups you own
-groups you have joined
Main page containing:
-Recent discussions in your groups
-Recent discussions in all 'public' groups
-Recently active groups
-Most popular groups
-Newest groups
-Recent photos from all groups
I think groups have a lot of potential so am investing some time there to make them more functional.
What is next for the Groups:
-Will attempt to bring group discussions into the sitewide "New Posts"
-We need to archive old 'dead' groups
-Work on categories and organizing the groups better
-A calendar system for your groups
-a few new APUG sidebar group blocks
Any questions or issues with the new page let me know.
Thanks,
Sean
