You're seeing ebay banner ads? Interesting, I have not seen a single one yet. I didn't think google ad network showed ebay ads. How often is it happening? ThankseBay often shows up in my ads on Photrio so I assume rover is a personalization mechanism. If it’s what it looks like then it’s server-side, not my client.
I’ll have to double check maybe there’s no eBay ads... but rover seems to be doing something. You're seeing ebay banner ads? Interesting, I have not seen a single one yet. I didn't think google ad network showed ebay ads. How often is it happening? Thanks
Most of these issues stem from out dated operating systems and old browsers and java versions, which create problems with a lot of scripts running in the background. I have 4 systems here MACOS and WIN10 and can't reproduce any errors or see any scripts hanging. What OS, browser and browser version are you using? ThanksWhen I open Today's Posts the URL letterbox tells me that "this page is trying to load unauthenticated scripts" so I presume that implied in the way the word "trying " is used , is the fact that it is not succeeding. Once i go to a thread this warning disappears. Are these unauthenticated scripts the one to which Bill Burk and others' posts might be referring to?

Sean, whatever Kaspersky is or isn't doing it certainly doesn't affect what I need Photrio to do for me. It is working fine as far as I can see. I simply brought up the question about the icon that appears in the URL box as I was curious about it in terms of what the message was referring to and others had mentioned scripts. As I said, it is only there when I click on "Today's Posts". Once I move to a specific thread it disappearsThat should be ok unless Kaspersky is interfering with some scripts. You could try temporarily disabling Kasersky then loading the page.
I've not purchase anything from this site, and rarely use ebay anymore, but I've a couple stupid questions/ideas.We have some simple ebay code within the system, basically, it appends our site ID to any ebay links on our pages. It's part of their partner network 'epn' they call it. This is so any ebay links clicked here which result in sales on ebay from that, give the site a small kickback. It's been worthwhile so far since a lot of ebay links are posted here.
I'm working on a new banner that will include an ebay affiliate link. I'm pretty sure we get a kickback for everything purchased on ebay if you land there using our link.I've not purchase anything from this site, and rarely use ebay anymore, but I've a couple stupid questions/ideas.
First, does the kickback count for all ebay purchases, or only the ones linked here? I imagine some members would appreciate giving kickbacks for general shopping.
Second (presupposing the first), do you have a link someone can click on to append the ID? I've seen other sites do it, though it seems an old method in internet years.
The reason I mention it is that for security reasons I have a browser I use only for shopping; no web searches, no BBSes, no news sites, etc. I pretty much leave it's security level at a point where it works with all the damn scripts that web-stores have. When I close it everything is wiped clean.
On the other hand, it may not be worth the effort, as there are few people who go to these extremes when shopping online.
That's really odd. Do you know if it was the 'rover' link?Well I did see an eBay banner ad the other day, which was associated with another “freeze” event. I was in the midst of some data recovery (from a failed drive with replaced circuit board), so it wasn’t pleasant having the system freeze... but it came to and continued.
