Hi All,

The forum software has had a point release from 2.2.8 to 2.2.9

The only known issue so far is the sidebar missing from new posts and today's posts, this should be restored soon.

We also upgraded the server database software. Things look good after this, even faster.

I am now restoring the classifieds feedback system, this should be up soon.

Thanks,
Sean

A problem since the upgrade. When typing a post, if one pressed <control-B> a large section of text on the screen gets selected instead of switching to Bold.

From my sidebar, while reading your "Trader History" thread:

There is a problem with starting new threads in the Digital Camera sub-forum. KerrKid brought it to my attention in a PM, which I've asked him to add Sean to.
Basically, the system requires you to choose content type, but gives you no opportunity to do so.
KerrKid has Digital enabled.
I ran into exactly the same problem, when I tried to start a test thread there.

Thanks Matt, it should be ok now.

Sean,
The problem seems to be limited to that specific sub-forum. If I try to add a new thread to it, I'm faced with the same problem.
But if I try adding a thread to the Digital Workstation sub-forum (as an example), I'm presented with the correct choice of content option.
I don't know if there are other sub-forums affected.

The digital camera forum should have no content type, it should be default 'digital', I disabled it's ability to need a content type and I made a test post. Is it still preventing you from posting?

I can now start a new thread in there.
FWIW, Digital Workstation does still require that you set a content type.
By the way, KerrKid indicates that he started a Conversation with you because he accesses Photrio with a cel phone, and the option to "Invite Others" to a pre-existing Conversation isn't visible on his cel phone screen.

It's a tricky one, iirc set like that incase someone had a specific hybrid question in those forums like "What is the best spec for a system to produce digital negs" or such. I can remove those options if it doesn't quite make sense.

Is this backwards compatible....because all the old posts with subs and supers are showing html commands instead.

it should be, can you point me to a thread where you saw it? Thanks!

I checked a couple of places - looks like they are back to normal now. I had been seeing them for some time while reading thru some old posts (I can't find those precise ones now, but checked some of mine where they are working properly now.) If I come across any new ones, I will report.
