has anyone tried this combination? Massive dev chart not helpful in this instance. Similar to Rollei retro 400?

I have a document from Paterson who produced the original FX39 developer which states 5 min for Rollei IR 400. That is at 1+9 standard dilution. Their recommended agitation procedure is constant first 20secs, then 4 inversions on the minute or 2 per 30secs is the dev time is less than 5 min. With a dilution of 1+14 increase times by 50%; 1+19 increase by 100% and at this dilution they suggest it works as a compensating developer.

I can't remember where I downloaded it from but was recent as I have just started trying this developer with some film types.

I can see it - but it sounds very short. I think my time for FP4 is about 9 min. Maybe a test roll or stick to ID 11.

I have just developed some Rollei IR 400 (but not with FX39). I would be careful about the times given in the massive dev chart. For example, I used Xtol 1:1. The time given on the MDC is 7.5 mins at 20 C. However, the time given on the inside of the film box is 17 minutes!. I don't know whether the film has changed and the MDC figures are out of date but I used the time on the box (17 mins) and the negatives looks fine. 7.5 minutes would not have worked. Incidentally, I have developed Rollei iR 400 with FD10 for 10 minutes at 1+9 and that was acceptable.
