Does anyone have any hints on how to avoid a steamed-up ground glass? I use a Paramo dark cloth and it seems to cause the GG and the loupe to mist over very quickly.

Anti-fog agents for a car's windshield applied to the groundglass may or may not help. Some people suggest using a snorkel while under the darkcloth. If you search this part of the forum, you will find similar threads from the past.

I've been known to hold my breath, coming up for air from under the darkcloth as needed. Of course, my ever-present cotton bandana is always good for a quick wipe of the gg when I do fog it up. Once or twice in the winter, when the condensation would freeze on the glass, I actually carried an ice scraper with me...

Of course, getting the camera dried off after shooting in these conditions is important too. Again, a cotton cloth and dry air inside the car help.

Keeping the Loupe in an inside a pocket or inside your Jacket helps

For the Ground Glass - the problem with clear itself given enough time as the glass warms up with heat from your body - but in the mean time a clean cotton handkerchief for wiping away condensation and/or a mini ice scraper depending on how cold it is.

Personally, when faced with such conditions, I find it best to have the Darkcloth open at the bottom at least at first and flap the Darkcloth frequently to promote ventilation.

Misting up inside the Darkcloth can be a year round problem depending on where you like - so its important to find something that works for you

I have had no success with a snorkel - it solves the breath problem but does nothing for the warmth and perspiration coming off your body
