Does Fuji make black and white and/or color single sheet instant films which I will be able to use in my Polaroid 545i film holder when the supply of Polaroid films dries up?

Not correct. Fuji does make instant films. I use them in the Polaroid back for my Hasselblad. They make a B&W and color instant film in 4x5. They do not make an equivalent to Polaroid Type 55. I don't think that the 4x5 film will fit a Polaroid 545 holder, but Fuji does offer a similar holder.

I think David meant that they do not make instant film in single sheets. The 4x5 fuji instant films are pack films and require a Polaroid 550 or Fuji PA-45 holder.

But those Fuji 4x5 Pack films work mighty fine, and for testing in 4x5 actually work as well or (in my opinion) better when it comes to contrast control and true color than the Polaroid ones did.

About the only thing a Polaroid 545i holder (and older holders that use same film) is as a Quickload holder--Unless some company negotiates with Polaroid to continue making some of a few of the products in 4x5 sheets. I think Ilford is in negotiations, but I think it is a long shot.

However, both Kodak and Fuji make Quickload style films which can be used in the 545i holder, but you have to darkroom process them, as they are conventional films, not instant films. There is still for some photographers a "convenience" factor in using the quickload style films, rather than loading and unloading multiple double-dark-slide film holders.

Thank you for the information. I just bought a used 545i holder last weekend, I bought it to use for quickloads. I'm relieved to see that Kodak and Fuji are going to continue making film to fit this holder.

I have a 405 holder for Polaroid shots, and I can still find Polaroid and Fuji film for that holder.

Quickload/Readyload and a monobath, and you're not too far away from the convenience of Type 55, if you shoot it for the neg. As long as you can get the film from the packet into the solution in the dark, you've got a neg ready to wash in a few minutes. It could even be done in a film-loading tent or dark box.

I've posted some monobath experiments in this thread--

(there was a url link here which no longer exists)

The most promising film I've tested for this treatment is TXP, and I suspect a slower similarly modern hardened film should do even better.
